Sunshine Coast based artist, Jordan Neal, explores issues related to the silence around menstruation. Period Piece challenges the learnt ideas of uncleanliness associated with periods and the pressure to conceal evidence of menstruation. She subverts the rule that periods must be hidden and seeks to normalise them by bringing menstrual blood out of hiding, and smearing it on the wall.
